I saved up my money for so long when Donkey Kong Country came out on the SNES and finally bought it and the strategy guide...only to get grounded. My parents went on vacation and we stayed at my grandparent's house in Baytown and I studied the guide book like nothing I had ever studied before. I knew every K-O-N-G location-- I just needed to get ungrounded to actually play. I still remember not thinking the graphics were going to be that good, but they were. Absolutely one of my favorite games ever and I hope I did the King of the Jungle justice here.
